John J. McDade
San Francisco Sheriff 1893-1894

Prior to his term as Sheriff, McDade served as a member of the State Senate, who continually fought for welfare reform. In 1879, he was the head of the "Young Men's Society" in San Francisco. After his term as Sheriff, he led the way for the improvement of city streets and eventually was appointed Superintendent of Streets.
